Scholarship to Japan for High School Juniors
Now in its 4th year, the Shirane Foundation invites current high school juniors to apply for this competitive, all-expense paid scholarship introducing 10 students to Japan for 2 weeks in mid-June. Underwritten by local Toyota Suppliers and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, we join our educational community in the belief that student travel provides vital perspective about oneself and the world our students inherit. With relationships in Japan spanning over 3 decades, we eagerly introduce the next generation to awaiting friends and families through homestay and culture events outlined in the attached brochures. We also encourage you to alert 10th graders for next year.
Applications are open on our website https://shiranefoundation.org/apply a 501.c.3 public charity. Registrations close January. Upon their return, we provide students letters of recommendation for their college application portfolios, and invite interested students to interview for Texas A&M University San Antonio’s Toyota Scholarship.
